Your Trusted Dentist for Dental Exams
At Mathews Dental, we believe that a healthy smile starts with regular dental exams. Our experienced team, led by Dr. Wright Mathews, is dedicated to providing thorough and gentle dental examinations to ensure your oral health and catch any potential issues early.
Why Are Regular Dental Exams Important?
Regular dental exams are essential for maintaining optimal oral health. They allow our dentists to detect problems early, prevent dental issues from becoming serious, and provide you with personalized care tailored to your needs.
- Early Detection of Dental Issues: Regular exams help in identifying issues such as cavities, gum disease, and oral cancer at an early stage, making treatment more effective and less invasive.
- Prevention of Tooth Decay and Gum Disease: Routine check-ups and cleanings help prevent the buildup of plaque and tartar, which can lead to tooth decay and gum disease.
- Overall Health Monitoring: Your oral health is closely linked to your overall health. Regular dental exams can help identify signs of systemic health issues such as diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.
What to Expect During Your Dental Exam
When you visit Mathews Dental for a dental exam, you can expect comprehensive care that includes:
- Oral Health Assessment Our dentists will examine your teeth, gums, and mouth to check for signs of decay, gum disease, and other oral health issues. This thorough assessment ensures that any problems are detected and treated promptly.
- Professional Cleaning Our hygienists will clean your teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup, helping to prevent cavities and gum disease. A professional cleaning leaves your teeth feeling fresh and your smile looking its best.
- X-Rays We use state-of-the-art digital X-rays to get a detailed view of your teeth and jawbone, helping us identify issues that may not be visible during the exam. X-rays are essential for diagnosing problems such as impacted teeth, bone loss, and cysts or tumors.
- Oral Cancer Screening Early detection is key to successful treatment. We perform a thorough screening to check for signs of oral cancer. This quick and painless procedure can save lives by catching cancer early when it is most treatable.
- Personalized Advice Based on the exam results, we will provide you with tailored advice and recommendations to maintain or improve your oral health. Our goal is to empower you with the knowledge and tools you need to keep your smile healthy between visits.
